What kind of publisher are you?
We negotiate publications through entities that enable print-on-demand books.
What don’t you print books and distribute them yourself?
We firmly believe that print-on-demand is the most environmentally appropriate and ethical way to publish books today using paper only for books that people will use and read rather than to stockpile them in hopes of sales.
Doesn't it take longer to receive a print-on-demand book when it's ordered?
Not at all. The delivery of print-on-demand books is competitive with the delivery of books from any publisher and sometimes faster.
Can anyone submit a book for publication?
Since we began, we have focused only on the writings of Soto Zen women priests with the idea of encouraging more women teachers to write and publish for future generations. As we continue, we may open to others writing in the Dharma.
Do authors pay a fee to publish with you?
No they do not. Temple Ground Press supports the publication of books that we feel deserve to be published.
Do these books go out of print?
No they do not. This is an important factor in this style of publishing, particularly for women's writings to be available in perpetuity, helping to carry the history of women of our times into the future.
